McKay Lake is a small community green-space park in the community of Brooks, Alberta Canada,which is located in the south-central region of Alberta known as the Canadian Badlands.

Much of the park is out in the open with some tree cover provided on the outskirts of the park. In the centre of the park, where much of the attention is focused, is McKay Lake surrounded by grass lawns.

Circling McKay Lake is a paved recreation path and many sections of grass lawns. The path is popular for activities like walking, jogging, biking, baby strollers and on-leash dog walking.

The park and green-space areas are popular for picnicking and birdwatching. Waterfowl visit the lake on a regular basis and so do song birds who like the trees in the park.

In the corner of McKay Lake Park is a children's playground and sand box area. The playground area is equipped with sitting benches for keeping watch over the children.

There is plenty of room to play in the park for such activities like frisbee, throwing a baseball, kicking a soccer ball and so forth.

For more adventure the Meadow Lake Park is located just east of the McKay Lake and north of of the lake park is the Greenbrook Park.

How to Get to the McKay Lake Park

Travel to the community of Brooks, Alberta Canada. From Cassils Road in Brooks travel south on 7th Street to 2 Avenue East. Turn left on 2nd Avenue and continue to travel east to Ingram Park Road. Turn left and continue to the park.
