Drumheller, Alberta, Canada photo galleryThe McMullen Park includes some picnic tables. Some are situated on cement slabs and some on grass lawns. Some picnic areas are under the shade of trees while others are exposed to the sunlight.

McMullen Island is located on the same park grounds as the Royal Tyrrell Museum. The park, together with the museum and the Badlands Trail, form the Midland Provincial Park.

The Drumheller McMullen Island park is a popular day use area because of the proximity to the popular museum and the Red Deer River but.... more importantly the park is popular because it is situated in a lush green and treed environment which is unique for badland country.

There is a paved and gravel walkway located in the park. The pathway explores the forest of trees and along the banks of the Red Deer River. It is an easy-going, level and double-wide recreation route popular for hiking, birdwatching and biking.

In the day use area and along the main route are some interpretive signs with birding information and descriptions of the local fauna.

Follow the main trail and you can connect to other smaller, less maintained trails which are mostly single track dirt trails - more than likely popular for mountain biking. .
