Yellowknife Hiking & Waterfall

Hello Yellowknife, NWT!

So we  settled into our campground in NWT.   It is clean, central and yet far enough away from the city. But the first thing on our minds when we arrived and at the top of our wish list at the time was a shower.

The drive to Yellowknife took us through some beautiful scenery – but a different kind of scenery than we are use to.  A scenery our eyes had never seen before – the Canadian Shield.   It  was barren, red and smooth.  It went on for many, many kilometres.   And to know its history we looked forward  to. It did not disappoint.

The  hike we enjoyed so far while in Yellowknife is the  Cameron Falls Hiking Trail.  When we hiked it – it was a beautiful day. W e had the whole hike to ourselves as we met no one.   And walking along some of the shield was like walking on the moon.   Here is a picture of me on the hike with the waterfall in the corner.

Eh, I enjoyed this one.
