I have always prided myself on keeping in touch with old friends. Because friends and family are very important to me. Friends are, sometimes, the window into the past – talking about “remember whens”, reminiscing stories and laughing at ourselves out loud. Family, sometimes, helps us see our way into the future – always there for you and full of love.
This weekend I was fortunate enough to hook up with one of my old college friends and his family. We, his college friends refer to him as Seeb.
The meet and greet went well. Seeb, still was Seeb. He did not look any different. And he is still a great guy!
On this visit , our first meet and greet in 10 years, I actually picked him out in the parking lot at Big White on my way to meet him. He looked so the same as in college. It was an easy pick.
We spent the day with his family skiing. Well, they skied and my brother and I boarded. A few times we lost them on the trails and then found them again. We like tree runs, and they were just beginning… so the odd time we went off boarding and hooked up with them at the lodge.
We met up again at his sons hockey tournament. This should be interesting I thought. As I once coached rep hockey and it was the parents who took up allot of the time. At Seeb’s game there they were, the parents hooting and hollering.. and some acting like idiots. I was proud to be sitting with Team Seeb as it was the opposing teams parents who acting like idiots. They are only 9 year old kids, let them have fun.
Finished the night over some beverages and talked for hours solving the worlds problems and catching up on each others accomplishments and opportunities.
Friends and family.. yup.. got to love em! TaKe care Seeb.
