Base Camp on Nipissing Lake in Ontario

Busy moving into our winter retreat setting up for a whole lot of work building new websites. Now we have to put all of our research together and begin creating. It is an exciting time!!

Cottage Home Base on Nipissing Lake near Sturgeon Falls

Pulled into our cottage home base a few days ago. Bro did a great job at hunting down some accommodations for our winter stint. Our front yard is Nipissing Lake. The sunsets on the lake from our front porch are fantastic. (main photo). I spent some time watching the sun go down a few nights ina row. It was heavenly. I felt at ease.

We have no real neighbors.  The hosts of the cottage resort are really good people who leave us alone to work. And everyone around these parts of Ontario speaks French. This is a good thing since Bro and I want to relearn French in a big way.

It has been go – go – go since my arrival. I spent a few days cleaning out my travel pod. Oh my God it was a disaster area. So much camping from Alberta to Ontario. It seemed like I brought the whole trip  right along with me. It was amazing what I found. There was sand everywhere.. enough for my own beach..ha ha.

My first trip into the closest village to our cottage – Sturgeon Falls – was a treat. It reminds us allot of Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.. except for the big box stores. Buying groceries, renting a few movies .. was all attempted in French. French is everywhere. It is such a beautiful language. Everyone seemed to be speaking  French while  I stumbled along. And I cannot say enough how attractive the women are with their accents.

Front Yard on Nipissing Lake

The first few days and nights at the cottage was very relaxing. It felt great. The views were captivating. Boats racing back and forth. The breeze and sunshine felt good. Now we are powering down and creating. I am starting with a total upgrade to the Vancouver Island website before building new websites.
