North Cape Coastal Drive : P.E.I
Today I awoke to a beautiful morning on the East coast of Canada. I planned on researching the North Cape Coastal Drive. The North Cape Coastal Drive is the loop around the western Region of P.E.I.
The adventure begins in just a few Km away as I enter the beautiful Belmont Beach Provincial Park, and once again on a short red sand road and into a grassy field. From here you can walk around the tip of the park, either on the grass, or on the red sand beach, which wraps around the point. (I’ve been told the red sand beaches, red cliffs, and red farm land is all due to the high iron content in the soil. It rusts when exposed to air, making it red. Lived in Canada all my life, yet every day I’m learning new things baout this awesome County of ours!
So… Back to Belmont Provincial Park. The water was so warm, I counld’t believe this was the Atlantic Ocean, it felt like a warm summer lake. Very nice.
It is a must see, as it is close to the main route, and beautiful, you must stop take come pictures. Have a picnic, a swim, or simply , use the public rest rooms.
The Adventure Continues…
