North Cape Coastal Drive (Pt III) : P.E.I

North Port Beach PEI, Canada

The water is amazingly warm. Hard to believe this is the ocean.

Continuing from Lennox Island, a change of scenery, from ocean views, to large farms. Farms seem more colorful here, the red dirty seen through rows of green.

On through Portage (appropriate name), and contiuing on Hwy. 12 (North Cape Coatal Drive), into Northport, P.E.I, Canada.

Plan to spend some time in Northport, as it is a delightful fishing town. There is lots to do and see in Northport, P.E.I, Canada.

There with a lighthouse, for lighthouse lovers.
A fishing village, fresh seafood market to get some lobster, P.E.I. Mussels, or anything else fishy.

North Port PEI Heron taken from pier right in town.

There is a pier right in town, where you can see numerous herons, sitting very still, fishing for a meal. Yes, right in the center of town!

Continue on to the end of the road and Bury Head beach. Drive quietly, (if that is possible), as two herons flew away pass the front to the Jeep as I drove up, so if your careful you might ge a close glipse of one. A fabulous photo opportunity for a sneaky photographer.

Another beautiful beach, perfect for a picnic as it was very private, with no one there. Beach views of Oultons Island, and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The water is amazingly warm, more like a lake than the Atlantic Ocean.
