Share Your Time with Nature – The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC).

Interaction with Mother Nature has proven – over and over again – to positively alter a person’s body, mind and overall well being.

A 2010 study in the Journal of Environmental Psychology indicates, “being outside in nature makes people feel more alive.” The professor and author goes on to say, “Nature is fuel for the soul.” We could not agree more!

The study shows people who interact with nature for 20 minutes a day show a significant boost in their vitality levels. Need motivation to meet up with nature read this article. Here is a link: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/06/100603172219.htm

On many of our travels to research parks, especially community parks in Canada, we often meet up with a good number of Seniors enjoying nature. Many are happy and healthy, smiling or laughing while reading, feeding birds, painting or playing cards, chess, backgammon and checkers with their friends. They have been around for a while and know and feel the positive side effects when hanging out with nature. With age comes wisdom. How true is that.

That brings us to a new program we have been invited to talk about called “Time for Nature”. All ages need to get outside more and “Time for Nature” follows along the same lines. It is a program provided by the hard working people at The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) challenging Canadians to explore nature more this summer .

The NCC wants to hear about your experience with nature during your summer vacations. They are asking for you to share those experiences online with them by submitting stories and photos on their “Time for Nature” website. Each submission is posted on an interactive map and then shared online.

It is an opportunity to motivate others about your experience outdoors while biking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cycling, caving, walking, birdwatching, rock climbing, camping, boating, sailing and even picnicking. Every story with nature is a good story. Do not be shy. Your story could inspire others to take up a natural outdoor experience in Canada.
