Scott’s Inn and Restaurant is located in downtown Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada in the Thompson – Shuswap Lake Region of the province. The 52 room motel provides a wide selection of accommodations. Each are well kept, very clean. It is obvious details matter and your first impressions are important.
The motel provides easy access to all downtown restaurants, attractions and services. Not far away are the sandy beaches of the South & North Thompson Rivers. Off in the distance are rolling mountains and hills. All roads from Scott’s Inn quickly lead out of town to various activity destinations and adventures. Plus, for families, it is located walking distance to one of the best children playgrounds in Kamloops called Prince Charles Park. Location. Location. Location.
The motel has been family-run for over 30+ years. It is easy to see Scott’s Inn specializes in details and comfort. One look at the beds when you enter your room or suite is a dead give-away. Beautiful, comfortable and, odd enough, nice to look at? Curiosity peaked I researched what type of beds were in each room and I soon found out they were “Serta Concierge Plush Beds”. Sweet dreams included!
The accommodations we visited were spotless. They did not smell of cleaning chemicals nor any foul odors. The room temperatures were not overly hot nor cold. They gave me no hint of uncleanliness. Scott’s Inn is a believer in first impressions.
There are two types of accommodations at Scott’s. There are Standard and Queen Double Rooms (some with mountain views). And on the other side of the coin are the suits complimented with kitchenettes, living rooms and many other every day conveniences you treasure from home. The suites come in various shapes and sizes including 1 and 2 bedrooms.
Onsite is a restaurant with an outdoor patio. The eatery has been a long standing feature in Kamloops for decades and has a large local following because of its home-cooked meals. On my first visit I was instantly struck by the country kitchen feel of the restaurant establishment.
The ownership has kept the restaurant decor simple, yet historic with pictures from the past. The staff are friendly and long serving which says a lot about the ownership. The club house sandwich and salad I devoured on my visit was delish and the price was right! The eatery is open daily from 7AM – 9PM providing breakfast, lunch and dinner, menu items, daily specials, and nightly seniors’ specials after 5PM.
Some of the other amenities featured at Scott’s Inn include a swimming pool, sauna and hot tub plus free continental breakfasts, free internet, free parking, laundry services, per friendly, air conditioning, non smoking rooms, rooftop sundeck and, get this, kids under 12 stay free.
Kamloops is an activity and adventure destination in British Columbia, Canada hence the moniker “Tournament Capital of Canada”! People come from all over to play baseball, hockey, soccer and more. Visitors may also enjoy golfing, mountain biking, horseback riding, boating, fishing, jet skiing, camping, skiing, snowboarding, zip lining and wine tours.
“You’re treated like a family member when you come here. That’s what we want people to feel. There is history here, there are memories here and we want that to go on.” Al Patel as quoted from an article in the Kamloops This Week Publication
