BC Flood and Fire Relief
Canada is watching British Columbia more than any other time in its history. Every Canadian has heard of the BC forest fires and floods. “Google’s Year in Search” provides us an even clearer picture into what is “top of mind” of Canadians in 2021. And when it comes to searching online, B.C.’s wildfires was 7th, and the Lytton fire was 9th, with Covid-19 taking #1 spot on the list. People are listening.
Hell or High Water Concert and Telethon
Musicians, celebrities, dignitaries, companies, and people like you are all coming together to provide some much needed help in this fundraising initiative. Because of the many challenges we still face in British Columbia and will continue to face – including flood and fire damages, housing shortages, supply chains, working transportation infrastructure, the current Covid 19 safety concerns and so much more. The “Hell or High Water” telethon is online, respecting Covid protocols, it is a two part fundraising event.
(1) Music Concert
(January 28th, 2022)
Live music concert featuring a top line-up of music artists and celebrities from across Canada, and North America performing at the Clarke Foundation Theatre in Mission, BC, Canada. Line up announcement coming soon.
(2) Online 12 hour Telethon
(February 13th, 2022)
The live music concert (above) will be exclusively aired during a live 12 hour online fundraising telethon. Included with the live concert performances, will be additional special appearances, performances, videos, personal messages, interviews with national, regional and local musicians, celebrities, special guests, dignitaries, and more. (Location Merritt BC. Venue to be announced)
Billions in Damages
The wildfire that destroyed Lytton, B.C., is estimated to cost $78 million. Then there is Monty Lake, Paxton Valley and the Okanagan Lake. There are too many to list. Then came November 2021 and the widespread flooding across southern British Columbia. A flood estimated to have caused $450-million in insured damages, making it the most costly severe weather event in the province’s history. Canadians are watching as British Columbians fight back against disaster after disaster. The event hopes to raise as much funds as possible to assist British Columbians and the selected Rotaries will take over from there in allocating the funds.
