Box Lake Trail is an easy going 1.3 kilometre loop walking trail located east of Nakusp, BC in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The hike is family friendly hike exploring a forest of cedar and hemlock trees with a few viewing areas for sightseeing.
The lake is popular for camping, birding and swimming. On site there is a wilderness campground. It is here the trailhead is located. The loop route follows the banks of the small lake. Because of the forest cover the trail is moist and fertile ground for moss and small riparian animals like frogs and ducks.
For those who want to continue their hiking experience at Box Lake there is a road behind the lake connecting to the Brouse Loop Trail/Road. This road is a mountain biking trail as well.

How to Get Here: Travel to Nakusp and then travel south on Highway 6 for 11 km. After passing Box Lake on the right look for the sign marking the the Box Lake Forest Service Road. Follow th eroad for 2 km to the Forest Service campsite.
