Hiking Bear Creek Waterfall Trail in Glacier National Park Canada

Waterfalls in Eastern British Columbia

Bear Creek Falls is a beautiful waterfall along the Connaught Creek in eastern British Columbia Canada near Roger's Pass in Glacier National Park. Parking is accessed off of the eastbound Trans Canada Highway and the turn-off sneaks up on you fast, so be prepared, as the Trans Canada Highway can get quite busy at times. I definitely do not advise accessing this waterfall while heading westbound on the highway. It's a solid double line and a very dangerous turn onto the small approach road. With that, do a turnaround loop if you miss it going east, just to be safe.

Trail Information for Hiking Bear Creek Falls

The hiking trail to Bear Creek waterfall is easy to follow and very well maintained as you drop down 95 meters from the parking lot. Consequently, due to the elevation, it's considered a moderately challenging route as the trail back to the parking lot is uphill the whole way. Surprisingly, this hiking trail is just over 1 km total there and back. Surprisingly, the trail does level out near the base of the falls, after the staircase in the forest. You'll be treated to a walk along Connaught Creek, over a small boardwalk, and right up to the base of the waterfall in Glacier National Park.

Family Friendly Hike in Glacier National Park Canada

Bear Creek Falls is a family-friendly hike in B.C., and it is absolutely worth making a stop on your road trip to enjoy this day-use area in eastern British Columbia at Bear Creek Falls on Connaught Creek. Found 1 hour east of Revelstoke or 1 hour west of Golden. Subject to seasonal closures in the winter. If traveling eastbound, it is just past the Rogers Pass.

Waterfall Hike in British Columbia Canada

Conveniently located, and in a beautiful old forest. This hiking trail is a gem and is even beautiful on overcast days when the sun is hiding. When we did this hike, we descended down into the deep valley through a foggy ancient forest, as the trail dropped drastically down on the way to the waterfall the fog got thicker. The sights and sounds of the forest are different when everything has a light layer of cloudiness to it.
