Queen's Park measures 30.5 hectares (75 acres). It is the park to visit in New Westminster for sightseeing beautiful gardens, large green space areas and for accessing the Millennium Trail. The park is well used for many recreational activities and it is home to many facilities.
Much of the park is connected by access roads and the Millennium Trail. The main trail circles the outer perimeter of the park and is used for jogging, biking and walking. The Millennium Trail follows a combination of gravel and cobblestone pathways.
Throughout the park are open green space areas, groves of trees, flower beds, grass lawns, ponds... and even some totem poles. Along the trails there are sightseeing benches and information signs. In one section of the park is a fitness circuit and in another area is an off leash dog area.
There are amenities in the park that are important for recreation and day trips. Some of the amenities include a playground, spray park, sports fields, day use picnic areas, washrooms, petting zoo, tennis courts, gazebo, bandshell, picnic shelters and a food vendor operating in the summer months.
The bandshell, the rose garden and the gazebo are popular spots for events, weddings and concerts. The picnic shelters, bandshell and sports fields must be rented prior to usage.
The facilities in the park include the Queen's Park Arena and the Queen's Park Annex. The arena is home to hockey, lacrosse and other events. The annex is home to sports educational programs and activities like volleyball and gymnastics.
