The 1.4 hectare park is one of five parks that belong to the Shoreline Park System in Port Moody. Other parks include the Inlet, Town Centre, Old Mill and Rocky Point Park.
All five waterfront parks are connected by a 3 kilometre long pathway called the Shoreline Trail. Kilometre "3", the back door trailhead entrance, of the Shoreline Trail begins in Old Orchard Park.
Shoreline Trail is a paved walking and biking trail suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The trail is considered easy-going and level. Sections explore a forest and sections are open with views of the inlet. Large sections of the trail are baby stroller and wheelchair friendly.
Old Orchard Park includes amenities and services including a sandy beach, a day use picnic area, washrooms, playground, grass lawns, recreation hall and sitting benches.
The easy access sandy beach on the shoreline makes it easy for swimming, sunbathing and beachcombing in the Burrard Inlet park. The recreation hall in the park is also popular for weddings, functions and events.
