The forested park measures 126 hectares and includes a network of trails and old logging roads. The trail network is a very popular destination for walking and biking.
The trails in the Bert Flinn Park are undeveloped gravel and dirt paths and, in the most cases, unmarked and unmaintained. The trails are considered easy-going and level suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
However... because the trails are unmarked be alert and try and always keep your wits about you. There are wetlands in the north end of the park near the powerlines. Here there are opportunities for birdwatching.
Located on the outside boundaries of the park, on the nearby neighborhood roads, are various playgrounds. There are playgrounds on April Road and Heritage Mountain Blvd.
In the centre of the Bert Flinn Park is an off leash dog walking trail. The dog walking path is located just west of the roundabout on David Avenue. Throughout the rest of the park dogs must be on leash. .
The Bert Flinn Park is heavily forested and home to wetlands. It is an environment which attracts wildlife. Be aware of wildlife in the area like coyotes and bears.
