Sunset Beach is situated at the mouth of False Creek near the neighbourhood of Yaletown. The recreation beach is sandwiched between Jericho Beach and the Burrard Street Bridge. A pier is nearby and that is the location of the False Creek Aqua buses.
Sunset Beach is one of many white sandy beaches located on Vancouver's Seawall (recreation pathway). The beach is located kitty-corner south of Vancouver's premier downtown park - Stanley Park.
Sunset Beach is one of the quieter beaches in the region because there is a noise bylaw in place to reduce loud music blaring away. The bylaw attracts an older crowd looking for peace and quiet.
The beach park also enjoys a food and drink concession, grass lawns and some washrooms. Pay parking is available.
Activities enjoyed on the beach include swimming, sunbathing, frisbee, beach volleyball, picnicking, sightseeing and relaxing. Beng located at the mounth of False Creek there are opportunities to view boats and sailboats as they come and go.
During the summer months there is a lifeguard on duty between the months of May and September. Nearby, at the aquatic centre is an off leash dog park for your four legged friends.
