Apex Mountain is a year round recreation destination located near Penticton, British Columbia, in the Okanagan Valley. During the winters the mountain is a ski resort for downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. During the summer months the mountain is a hiking and backpacking destination popular for photographers and naturalists.
During the winter season Apex Mountain is a playground for skiers and snow boarders. Many of whom, enjoy the ski mountain because of the small crowds and short line ups, if any. In total there are 1112 acres of snow covered slopes with alpine trails.
Apex Mountain ski runs have a 2000 vertical drop with 16% of the terrain groomed for beginners, 48% for intermediate skiers and 36% for the expert adrenaline skier. In total there are 67 ski runs serviced by 5 ski lifts ( one being a high speed quad chair lift).
On Apex Mountain there is a small village located at the base where many of the comforting amenities including accommodations and shops are located. The village has an Adventure Centre with a ski and snowboard school, a kids club and cafe.
Accommodations on Apex Mountain are available. There are 3 main accommodations and 2 have been rated by Ski Canada Magazine as "Best New Lodges". For the snow addicts on a budget there is a Hostel located on the mountain.
Night time has its share of venues and entertainment on Apex Mountain with people gathering at the local restaurant and saloon.
Apex Mountain also has for your enjoyment a 1/2 pipe, night skiing, inner tube park, outdoor skating rink and a 1 km adventure skating oval.
