McConnell Lake Provincial Park-Lake Shore Loop Trail is another lesser-known gem for hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing located on the shores of McConnell Lake near the community of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. The recreation lake and trail system attract people year round because of the peaceful atmosphere, small crowds and the beautiful scenery.
The McConnell Lake trails explore a forest and the shores of lake. The main route follows, mostly, a pine needle cushioned trail surrounded by deadfall trees and including stepping over exposed tree roots. Hiking the trail should take no longer than an hour and a half to complete and return to the parking lot.
The parking lot in the park is also the location of the trailhead. Also in the parking lot area is a boat launch accessing McConnell Lake, some picnic tables and an outhouse. Canoes and small boats use the boat launch regularly. Some arrive for pleasure while others for the fishing. There is trout in this lake.
