Oliver, BC is a small southern Okanagan Valley community surrounded by fruit orchards, fruit stands, local wineries, farmlands and rolling desert hills. The community neighbours the Sonora Desert (Canada's only desert) thus enjoying an arid climate producing vineyards and orchards of grapes, apples, plums, cherries, pears and peaches.

Oliver is the self proclaimed "Wine Capital of Canada". The grapes grown on the "Golden Mile" and on the "Black Sage Bench" in Oliver are said to be of very high quality.
