Manipogo Provincial Park

Manipogo Provincial Park is a reclusive, somewhat private recreation destination on the northwest shores of Lake Manitoba located east of Dauphin Lake and the community of Dauphin, Manitoba. The closest village to the park is Toutes Aides.

The provincial park is named after the mythical sea creature who lurks in the water of Lake Manitoba. People have claimed to have seen the monster but there is yet to be any proof of such a sea creature. Sightings have been reported as far back as the 1800s.

The main features of the park are the day use area, the two marina channels, a campground and the long kilometres of sandy beach. The Manipogo Provincial Park is fortunate to enjoy long stretches of sandy beach as it provides lots of room to move and, maybe, even find a private spot for reflection.

The campground rests on a low lying ridge fronting the sandy beach. The campground is protected from the winds by the forests of spruce and poplar trees.

Some of the facilities in the Manipogo Provincial Park include a day use picnic site, picnic shelter, campground, boat launch, playground, sandy beach, change rooms, concession, fish cleaning site, sani-dump, washrooms, pit toilets, horseshoe pits and volleyball courts.

The main activities enjoyed in the park and on Lake Manitoba include camping, swimming, fishing, hiking, windsurfing, sailing, boating, birdwatching and canoeing.

Fishing on Lake manitoba is a very popular activity. Fishing is for walleye, northern pike, sauger, freshwater drum and perch.
