Waterfront Trail in Barrie, Ontario, Canada is the best recreation pathway in the community for sightseeing the entire waterfront of Barrie.
The pathway is a great walking route for traveling from one end of downtown to the other. It is in close proximity to many attractions, accommodations, restaurants, banks and downtown services.
The Waterfront Trail is also close to amenities and other attractions like boat launches, marina, art sculptures, day use picnic areas, boat cruises, fishing charters and sightseeing benches.
While exploring the pathway do not be surprised if you see some people shore fishing from one of the docks or piers located along the route.
The 6.7 kilometre paved trail follows Lakeshore Drive along the shores of Kempenfelt Bay on Lake Simcoe. The entire route provides a bevy of sightseeing opportunities of boats, sailboats, birds and kayaking.
Other activities enjoyed on the trail includes walking, jogging, biking and in-line skating. Some sections of the pathway are separated into two paths - one for walking and one for biking. The pathway is also very baby stroller and wheelchair friendly.
The Waterfront Trail connects to various parks and sandy beaches in the community of Barrie, Ontario including Centennial Park, Minet's Point Park, Heritage Park and Johnson Beach.
