Cedarvale Park

Toronto Ontario Urban Park

In 1912, Sir Henry Mill Pellatt, started the process of development of this Toronto, Ontario, Canada nieghbourhood. Cedarvale Ravine is part of the historic 1880's Belt Line Railway path. During development, the ravine and green space - which runs down the centre of the development - was donated as a park.

Cedarvale Park Activities

Cedarvale ravine and park is a midtown Toronto recreation and relaxation green space park which is visited regularly by walkers, cyclists, joggers, bird watchers and cross country skiers during the winter months. It has vast open greenspace where one can observe a cricket game or simply relax on a blanket and read a book. Cedarvale Park also has steep hiking trails for the more adventurous.

Amenties of the Park

Cedarvale Park is located on the ravine, near the north end of the greenspace, and includes recreational venues like tennis courts, baseball fields, splash pad, playground and the Phil White indoor ice arena. Recently the Cedarvale Park area has also added an enclosed off leash area for dogs.

Cedarvale Park Wetlands

The tributary of the Don River and a large grassy greenspace meadow makes up a wetland area where the locals have planted native flora and fauna like native trees shrubs, wildflowers and grasses. Along the footpath are some interpretive signs and education on the local plants, birds and animals.
