Cypress Hills InterProvincial Park is located in the southwest corner of the Province of Saskatchewan, Canada closest to the communities of Maple Creek, Eastend, Shaunavon and Gull Lake.

The Cypress Hill Park is Canada's first park to span across provincial borders. In this case the park measures over 20,250 hectares (50,000 acres) covering both, Saskatchewan and Alberta Provinces. The park also is the highest elevation found between the Rocky Mountains and Newfoundland-Labrador. Being so close to the stars and with very little light pollution the park is best known by some as a Canadian Dark-Sky Preserve.

"A dark sky preserve is an area, usually surrounding a park or observatory, that is kept free of artificial light pollution. The purpose of a dark sky preserve is generally to promote astronomy." Wikipedia

First Nations people have been coming to the Cypress Hills Park for centuries as its lands have a spiritual and cultural importance to the people. Not only is its historical referances important but so is the flora and fauna in the region including rare species of orchids and the forests of lodgepole pine trees.

The Cypress Hills InterProvincial Park has many campgrounds to select from - the Rainbow, Warlodge, Terrace, Deer Hollow, Meadows, Lodgepole, Ranger Creek, and Equestrian Campgrounds . The centre block campgrounds provide many services important to campers. The west block includes 2 rustic campgrounds and equestrian one.

There are many activities enjoyed in the park year round. During the summer one can go swimming, hiking, fishing, birding, biking, horseback riding, boating and canoeing. In the winter people arrive in the park for snowmobiling and cross country skiing (17 km of groomed trails).

Some of the unique features of the park include general store, restaurants, gas station and full service hotel, a golf course, mini golf, a zip line, climbing wall, tennis courts, Loch Leven Marina, interpretive programs, horseback riding academy, and many special events.
