Blackstrap Park is located south of the community of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The provincial Park is a recreation and campground destination situated on the shores of Blackstrap Lake under the watch of Backstrap Mountain.

The park is spread out along the eastern shore of the lake. The lake is a man-made lake which was once designed for irrigation purposes.

Over the years the lake became a recreation hot spot. There is a sandy beach, large grass lawns, sightseeing benches, swimming area, concession, washrooms, playground, campground, picnic sites and a hiking trail.

This Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,Canada lake is a popular destination for camping, picnicking, windsurfing, water skiing, sailing, fishing, swimming, boating or hiking. For all water sports enthusiasts there is a boat launch with a parking lot for trailers.

Fish for walleye, yellow perch, northern pike and burbot. To fish in Saskatchewan one must have a fishing licence and a little bit of luck.

The Blackstrap Provincial Park includes a large full service campground and three day use areas. The Aspen Grove, Lakeview and Mountain View Day Use Areas are picnic sites. There are picnic tables, large grass lawns and easy access to the sandy beach.

Above the sandy beach on Blackstrap Lake is a 5 kilometre loop trail. The trail provides an opportunity during the summer for hiking and biking activities and during the winter the trail becomes a cross country ski route. The big hill nearby attracts snowboarders and skiers.

How to Get to Blackstrap Park

From Saskatoon, Sask, Canada it is 52 kilometres to the park. From Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. travel south on Highway #11 (Louis Riel Trail) to the Hwy #211 exit and turn left. Follow the signs for about 7 kilometres to the park.
