The park is a day use picnic park with some beautiful green space areas, some good tree cover providing shade and some well maintained paved and red rock gravel trails providing activity.

Medicine Hat

Kinbrook Island Provincial Park was not established as a provincial park until 1951. Next to the park is the Kinbrook Marsh. It is one of three marshes on Lake Newell along with the Sven Bayer Peninsula and Pelican Island.

Canmore's Grassi Lakes Trail is a 4 kilometre loop hiking route providing views of waterfalls, turquoise spring fed lakes, pictographs and the community of Canmore. The trail was made popular by and dedicated to, long time local resident, Lawrence Grassi.

The Beatrice Wyndham Park is a small birdwatching and aviation sightseeing park situated in the Air Ranch neighborhood in the community of Okotoks, Alberta in the Southern Alberta Foothills region of Canada.

The Kananaskis Country trail is an activity route as well as a transportation route for getting from one end of town to the other. The pathway is one of the main access trails within the community popular for hiking, biking, rollerblading, dog walking and jogging.

Riverside Park in Drumheller, Alberta enjoys large grass lawns ideal for play. Bring a frisbee, basball glove or any other activity which needs a little space. There are many trees providing plenty of shade too... and a few floral gardens and rock gardens adding color and scents.

The falls require no hiking and are easily accessible. Cameron Falls is one of the most visited natural attractions in the park and one of the most photographed. The falls are an ideal destination for all ages and abilities. The walkway is wheelchair and baby stroller friendly.

The Happy Trails Pathway measures about 17+ kilometres in total. The trail is paved, mostly easy going and well maintained. Along the pathway are various access points leading to local parks, recreation facilities, lakes, historic sites and attractions.

High River

The Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area is a wildlife management, cattle farming and activity destination located east of the community of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in the Central Alberta region.

There are day use picnic tables decorating the grass lawns - , some with fire pits, some near the playground, some in the shade. There are sightseeing benches hugging the banks of the Seven Persons Creek. And there are trails with information signs.

Medicine Lake is a sightseeing and activity destination located in Jasper National Park - southeast of the the community of Jasper, Alberta, Canada. The lake is part of the Maligne Valley watershed - connected to Maligne River, Maligne Lake and a unique underwater limestone cave system.

In total there are over 35 kilometres of trails in the region. During the winter 4 kilometres of the xc ski runs are lit for night skiing. The trail network consists of many loop routes. Some exploring a forest and others navigating the sand dunes above the Wapiti River leading to a viewpoint.

Grande Prairie

The North Fork Wilderness Campground is located on HWY 510 just north of the community of Pincher Creek in southern Alberta Canada. A wonderful place to camp and enjoy some watersports along the fork in the Oldman River and Crowsnest River. 8 FCFS sites are available.
