Fernie Alpine Ski Resort is located southwest of the community of Fernie, British Columbia in the Kootenay region of BC, Canada. Fernie Alpine Ski Resort is a year round recreation destination popular for skiing and snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the summer.
Fernie
The alpine resort is a full service resort with accommodations, restaurants, rentals, gift stores and pubs. Services run at their peak in the winter months during the ski season.

The popular ski hill in the winter months enjoy over 114 designated ski trails and 5 bowls with plenty of tree runs. There is the RCR Snowboarding Trail Park with boxes and rails for snowboarders. The resort skiable area covers about 2504 acres with a vertical drop of 857 m (2816 ft).

Fernie Alpine Resort ski runs are tailored for all skiers and snowboards regardless of skill. 30% of the runs are "Novice Runs" designed for beginners. 40% of the runs are for the Intermediate skier while 20% are set aside for expert skiers. The longest run on the mountain is the 5 kilometre Falling Star run.

The whole system of ski runs is serviced by 10 ski lifts in total. They include 2 high speed quad chairs, 2 quad chairlifts, 2 triple chairlift and 4 surface lifts.

In the back country on the lower slopes of the mountain are another 14 kilometres of trails set aside for cross country skiers. Trails are both groomed and track.

On the mountain there is a good selection of vacation homes, cottages, chalets, condos, town houses and hotels. But, like all ski hills in British Columbia, the winter season is busier and the availability of accommodations is less. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Fernie Alpine Resort also offers helicopter ski tours, night skiing, dog sledding, snowshoeing and snowmobile tours to larger groups.

During the summer months the resort is a popular mountain biking destination. The downhill trails are serviced by two lifts which provide access to popular trails like the Power Curve, Deer Trail, Megasaurus, Black Forest and the White Pass.
