Nickel Plate Provincial Park is a wilderness destination park established in 1938. The park is a remote recreation destination popular with people who enjoy exploring the rugged outdoors in the summer months like hikers, backpackers, canonists and wilderness campers. In the winter months cross country skiers dominate the trails in the park.

The 105 hectare park provides an abundance of nature and wildlife viewing opportunities. To properly enjoy the adventures in the park it is important to understand that Nickel Plate Park is a pack in-pack out destination under rugged conditions. Good outdoor survival skills is a must.

Many visitors to the park camp on the shores of Nickel Plate Lake. A glacier lake under the shadows of Lookout Mountain. Camping at the lake encourages easy day trips visiting various points in the park. The large network of trails exploring the park were first built as cross country ski routes.

In the winter months the trails in the region are used by cross country skiers , as well as snowshoers. There are over 30 kilometres of xc trails in the park. Some are groomed and trackset trails prepared for classic and skating style cross country skiers. There is a Nickel Plate Nordic Centre onsite with a heated day use chalet and waxing hut.

Nickel Lake Park is located west of Penticton, British Columbia, Canada near Apex Mountain. Follow the gravel Hedley - Nickel Plate Road for 30 kms from Hwy #3A. The Nordic Centre is 7 kms past the Apex Ski Hill.
