Park Amenities:

Writing-on-Stone/Áísínai’pi lies on the northern edge of the semi-arid Great Plains of North America near the Canada/U.S. border. The Milk River and several large coulees - or prairie valleys - create a unique environment. Sandstone walls and hoodoos carved by erosion dominate the landscape.
Writing On Stone Petroglyphs
These sandstone walls hold thousands of petroglyphs - or carved rock art. Some of these images date back over 4,500 years. The area is a sacred place for the Blackfoot people. Public tours and interpretive programs help visitors understand the cultural and natural history of this park.
Camping
Writing-on-Stone has a popular, 61-site campground. It fills up fast in summer months. Campers appreciate the option of unserviced and powered sites. Kids and adults alike enjoy swimming and floating the Milk River.
