Morse Creek Pond Park in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada is a gem of a park nestled alongside Morse Creek with excellent wilderness walking trails leading to a great day of hiking and exploring creek habitat and west coast forests.
For many years the Morse Creek Pond area has been home to many species of wildlife including Dolly Varden, Cutthroat Trout, Beavers, Bald Eagles and Blue Herons. In 1999, a fish ladder was constructed furthering the river spawning run of the Coho Salmon by over 3 kilometres introducing Coho to the habitat.
Another of the area's attraction is the marsh-like eco system and the well groomed pebbled walking paths leading around the pond breeding with vegetation including Swamp Cabbage and Cow Parsnip.
The pebbled well groomed paths lead to a fish ladder, the Morse Creek Pond and then continue into the forests finishing up at the BC Ferry Terminal connecting to the Queen Charlotte Islands and Port Hardy on Vancouver Island.

:How to Get Here: Travel towards the hub of Prince Rupert, B.C. along Highway 16 (Yellowhead Hwy) toward the town centre. The hwy turns into McBride St... no worries... continue straight down McBride and take a left on 2nd Ave. Continue down 2nd over the bridge and turn left on Moresby Rd. Park on the side of the street and the fish ladder is down below by the creek. (pond) Continue down 2nd and at the stop sign, veer left toward the BC Ferries. Access trail head near Anchor Inn. (BC Ferries) Continue down 2nd and at the stop sign, veer left toward the BC Ferries. Just before terminal look for trailhead.
