Have you ever wondered whether or not those toadstools growing in your yard are poisonous? Bring them and any other mushrooms along for identification to the 2023 Annual Mid Island Mushroom and Nature Festival, held just outside Nanaimo, B.C., where knowledgeable people will be available to answer all of your fungi related questions!
See a wide variety of fresh local fungi including edible mushrooms and poisonous specimens!
There will be a huge display of identified mushrooms and educational materials on the ecological role of fungi and their uses as food, medicine and dyes.
Available for sale:
*Fresh and dried mushrooms, plus kits
*Mushroom guides, books and gifts
PLUS, there will be vendor artisans and food trucks on the grounds for your enjoyment.
This event takes place on the Coombs fairgrounds just outside of Nanaimo and is sponsored by Arrowsmith Naturalists. Admission is by donation ($5.00 suggested for adults aged 17 and over, kids are free). All proceeds support the Mushroom Festival and Arrowsmith Naturalists Club.
