Quarry Lake is located a short distance south of the community of Canmore, Alberta, Canada. It is a local recreation park with a short trail popular for school groups, children's clubs, dog owners, hikers and for people who wish to relax by the side of a lake.
The park is small and room for activities is limited to swimming, walking, fishing and relaxing. Next door to the Quarry Lake Park is an open field which is used as an off leash dog park.
Quarry Lake is a small picnic and activity park with picnic tables, grass lawns, sitting benches, swimming area, walking trail, sightseeing benches and a pit toilet.
The Quarry Lake Trail near Canmore, Alberta takes about 20 minutes to complete. The route follows a well maintained, wheelchair accessible gravel trail around the edges of the small lake. It is an easy going 1 kilometre stroll with many sitting benches & picnic tables located along the route.
On a clear day Quarry Lake is surrounded by mountain peaks and visited by many people. There is a large gravel parking lot at the entrance of Quarry Lake. Be early as space can be limited.
Dog Owners: As of August 1st 2016 Canmore is expanding the off-leash dog area at Quarry Lake to include a one-kilometre trail loop and part of a nearby pond as part of a one-year pilot project. Part of the pond area will also provide an opportunity for dogs to swim off-leash. The trail will provide a loop from the current dog park area to the pond and back.
Travel to the the community of Canmore, Alberta, Canada. At the corner of Three Sisters Drive and Spray Lakes Road is a dirt road marked by boulders. The dirt road is the access road to Quarry Lake.
