Canmore Park Photo GalleryThe Kananaskis Country trail is an activity route as well as a transportation route for getting from one end of town to the other. The pathway is one of the main access trails within the community popular for hiking, biking, rollerblading, dog walking and jogging. There are sections of the trail which are also wheelchair accessible.

The Bow River Trail is considered an easy going recreation route ideal for sightseeing the community of Canmore. The path is, either, paved, made of clay or covered in gravel. But it is always, mostly, level and flat. The Bow River Trail crosses the river at the engine bridge on 11th Street and at the boardwalk pedestrian bridge at the end of 8th Ave.

Along the trail there are boardwalk bridges, beach access points, viewing benches, information signs, boat launch, playgrounds, washrooms and grass lawns.

Highlights along the Bow River Trail include Riverside Park, Lions Park and The Prospect which is an old historic lamp house and the entrance to the, once thriving, old number 2 mine. Both attractions are located about an hour south of the pedestrian bridge.

The Bow River Trail combines with the Policeman Creek Trail to make a 4 kilometre loop route.
