During the winter, Johnson Lake Trail is a popular snowshoeing destination. However, on the day we went we were the first to break the trail after a fresh snowfall. Johnson Lake is surrounded by the Canadian Rocky Mountains with views of Cascade Mountain, one of Banff's iconic mountains. On a nice day, the trail winds along the lake and offers hikers scenic mountain views.
