Back Harbour Twillingate Newfoundland and Labrador Canada Island Views
Back Harbour Twillingate Newfoundland Canada Views
Back Harbour is located on North Twillingate island Newfoundland Canada and sits along the coast of Notre Dame Bay along famous “iceberg alley”. The tiny rural community was once a farming and fishing village that once had two stores and two schoolhouses way back in 1911. Additionally, in 1967, archeological finds were discovered in Back Harbour belonging to the Maritime Archaic people. Items uncovered at ancient dwelling and burial sites included grindstones, stone tools and artifacts providing evidence of burnt offerings according to Wikipedia. I climbed to the highest peak in beautiful Back Harbour this afternoon and enjoyed these breathtaking coastal views overlooking to the North Atlantic Ocean.
