Uncle Thomas’ House is a newly launched luxury Victorian Era Airbnb in Marystown Newfoundland Canada. Located on the Heritage Run of the scenic Burin Peninsula, the vacation property was sure to impress guests with an appreciation of history, music, and the finer things in life! In fact, former property owner, Mr. Thomas Brenton, was a well known figure in the local arts community and owned the nearby music store. The store remains open across the road and offers a wide variety of high end musical instruments and accessories.
I was so honoured to be the first guest at this stunning luxurious piece of local architecture. As a kid growing up nearby, I always wondered what the beautiful house looked like inside. It seemed so fitting to play a few tunes in the newly renovated kitchen at Uncle Thomas’ House to “break er in” as we say here in Newfoundland. Huge shout out to local musicians Darrell Jackman, Owen Jackman and Jaelyn Brenton for sharing their beautiful talent. Furthermore, shout out to my dear friend Jaymee Miller on ugly stick and cousin Holly Farrell for sharing some Penny Folk Dancing skills! And finally, thank you to Mr. Jack Brenton and family for hosting me at your stunning Victorian Era home in Marystown NL Canada. I love live traditional music, jigs, reels, singing and dancing.
