The Village of Cumberland is located on the east coast of Vancouver Island in the Comox Valley and is about 93 km northwest of Nanaimo. In the last decades of the 1800's it was a coal mining town, but today it is an artsy, world class outdoor recreation area lying in the shadow of the Comox Glacier. Mt. Washington ski resort is right next door and Cumberland is the gateway to Comox Lake. A friend and I stopped in downtown Cumberland for lunch deciding to try Biblio Taco, a Mexican restaurant.
