“The Little Red Stage” is very special to the Pelley family of Upper Jenkin’s Cove, Twillingate. The late Mr. Edwin Pelley was a well known fisherman in the area and his beloved stage was swept away by a storm surge in 2004.
Devastated by the loss of the stage, the Pelley family were able to rebuild the stage in 2007 before Mr. Pelley’s passing. Edwin’s son Charles moved back home to the Cove and cares for the stage and enjoys a traditional outport life.
The family and the story of the stage have been featured on local TV show land and Sea.
