While in Yellowknife, we experienced the dual wonders of a sunrise and the Aurora Borealis.

We took a short walk up Tin Call Hill to witness the sky transform into a canvas of vibrant hues over the Ice Road of Yellowknife Bay.

Later that day, we were mesmerized by the Northern Lights dancing in the sky over the Ice Road. Truly breathtaking! We were lucky to see them on our 2nd attempt as our APP only gave us a 13% chance for that evening. 

Astronomy North installed mini-lighthouses around Yellowknife to ignite excitement about the breathtaking Aurora Borealis. These devices will illuminate when conditions are ideal for a dazzling light display. The Northern Lighthouse Project delivers a beacon of anticipation and delight for both locals & tourists.
