There are about 1,400 permanent residents here, plus another 900 property owners who do not call this their home.
Next to Whistler, Sun Peaks is the second largest ski area in Canada. They have ski lifts on three mountains (Tod, Sundance, and Morrisey) with all runs flowing down to Sun Peaks Village.
Sun Peaks has 16 square km of skiable terrain, the second largest in Canada. It receives an average of 18 feet of snow each year.
In the summer you might enjoy biking, hiking, shopping, or a game of golf.
Sun Peaks is known for downhill skiing. It is located about 55 km northeast of Kamloops BC. It is known for 360 degrees of skiing. There are ski runs on three mountains (Tod, Sundance, and Morrisey) flowing down to the village below.
Another street scene, Sundance Lodge, at Sun Peaks Village this summer. Smoke from forest fires hangs in the air blocking out what should be a sunny day.
The Sundance Kids Centre offers daycare for children ages 3 to 5. Make sure to register prior to your vacation if you require child care while you ski.
There is plenty of accommodation available in Sun Peaks. Bookings might be more difficult in the midst of ski season but there is plenty to enjoy in the summer as well.
