Willband Creek Park is an urban wetland with marsh, open grassy areas and trees here and there. Over 130 species of birds have been seen at the location. The grass is left uncut so that ground nesting birds are safe. There are many nesting boxes throughout the park.
There is a creek and two large water detention ponds in the park. Today I am on an inner circle pathway which doesn't seem to get close to the water. Finally I spot an opening where I can finally get a view of the water with the mountains in the background.
This is an excellent park to visit if you like birdwatching. Dogs on leashes are permitted. Great paths for walking or jogging. It's also a beautiful place to walk. There are many views of the water, often with ducks or geese, and stunning mountains in the background.
