King Tides Powell River BC Canada
The King Tides happen at least once or twice every year, and get their name for being the highest tide of the year. This happens when the orbits and alignment of the earth, sun and moon combine to produce the greatest tidal effects of the year. King Tides are generally 1 to 2 feet higher then normal tides. Here our beach does not exist and has now been filled with drift wood which has been picked up and washed around by the higher tides. Eventually after a few days our beach comes back and is filled with new pieces of driftwood which have washed in!

So cool. Will you post a picture in a few days to see what your beach looks like normally?
