I’ve been a busy with spring adventures on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada, located on Canada’s east coast. My recent travels have taken me to communities on the Avalon Peninsula such as Bauline, Brigus, Flatrock, Cupids, Colliers, Bay Bulls and Torbay! Gosh make no wonder I’m tired!

I was happy to be able to get out to Bay Bulls on The Southern Shore to watch local folk musicians Arthur O’Brien and Fred Jorgensen of The Navigators perform and kick off their Newfoundland and Labrador music tour. Folk artist Jordan Harnum also performed at the show.

Additionally, I overindulged in nachos and French fries and toutons. I ate well!! Not to mention the beautiful sunsets this season. Follow along for more exciting adventures next week!

Local music icon and friend Arthur O’Brien posed for a photo with me on his “Little Honda 50” at the Bay Bulls concert venue in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

This boat was called Anger Management and I couldn’t help but laugh.
Newfoundlanders are traditionally known for their sense of humour.

I sat on the rocks in the Spring sun for a long time watching the ice move gently with the swell of the sea.

This red historic barn is on an old fashioned natural stone foundation with a traditional white wooden fence. I could stay there and never leave.

I love it when I find a piece of an old plate or sea marbles. I enjoy creating sea glass art in my down time.

The cotton candy skies are breathtaking in Torbay. While we do not get to see the sun set on the ocean here we get to see the ocean sunrise. Golden hour here was spectacular this week.

Seining is a method of fishing that uses a surrounding net, called a seine, that hangs vertically in the water with its bottom edge held down by weights and its top edge buoyed by floats. These boats look like they are filled with fish based on the seagulls and how low they were in the water. I would think they were likely fishing for herring or mackerel.

The sun shone down on the calm icy water filled with ancient bergy bits as the seagulls called out over head. This is why I love my coastal lifestyle.

The ocean was so calm and blue as I drove by this little inlet around the bay in Colliers Newfoundland Canada.

Bauline is a beautiful tiny community on the Avalon Peninsula that overlooks Conception Bay. The wharf is a great place to watch an ocean sunset.

It was so hypnotizing sitting on the edge of the wharf watching chunks of ancient ice float around in the tide.

Local folk artists “The Navigators” performed at the Bay Bulls Lifestyle centre in Newfoundland, Canada. The bike is a joke that only Newfoundlanders can appreciate. Many of us spent our childhoods on these haha!

Big surf and waves crashed on the rocks during my daily walk in Torbay. I hiked down to the beach and spent my time searching for sea glass and driftwood.

Rusted chains laid on the ground near the slipway in Bauline reminded me of Newfoundlands history of fishing. Rusted from the salty sea of the North Atlantic.

While hiking the coastline of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada , keep your eyes peeled for urchin shells. The seagulls pick them out of the ocean and drop them on the rocks above to smash them and get at the food.

This bar and dining establishment offered a wide selection of food and drink with beer on tap and live music. The Riseover pub also offers beautiful ocean views of Brigus.

The bagel cafe is my favourite place to go when I have a big breakfast appetite. I love eating toutons and cod fish cakes while admiring the eclectic decor.
