One of the most exciting parts of visiting the Hector Heritage Quay in Pictou, NS was exploring the inside of a full scale replica of the ship Hector. The space was small, dark, and lacked windows, and it was difficult to image how 189 immigrants could have survived inside for 11 weeks.
