I see that video was taken in October. I'm guessing they would soon be hibernating. -
A good hiking tip! My understanding is that that depending on conditions bears will not necessarily continuously hibernate and that they may emergeA good hiking tip! Usually on a good day, like when I plan to go on a hike! In British Columbia, December to March is the hibernation time but in other more northern areas I believe the hibernation period is longer. DYK - The Western Wood Lilly is on the decline. This beautiful flower dies once it is picked. It doesn't grow back the following year: nothing, gone, that's it.
Take pictures, take a lot, but leave them where you see them so that others can enjoy them and so that you can also enjoy them the following year.
FYI: it is illegal to pick any wildflowers in the Provincial and National Parks.

Here is my oldest on the summit of Sulphur Ridge, which you get to via the Sulphur Skyline hike. We did this hike in 2014 and the outstretched arms used to be his signature pose: "mom, I'm a teenager, I don't do that anymore." You gotta love the awkwardness of teens...or not.

I have been to all of them and would have to say that Radium is my favourite, in addition to the hot pools, there is a larger cooler pool with a slide and diving board.
The Radium Hot Springs is a Perfect "Plan B" for those days when you need a break from hiking or want to limber up those quads after a day of skiing.

They are the largest member of the weasel family and are very elusive and unfortunately, are currently listed as a Species of Special Concern.
Douglas Chadwick, biologist and author of the book "The Wolverine Way" refers to them as "BadAss," and they do have a reputation for being nasty, however, in reading his book, I discovered that these carnivores have a friendly, playful and family oriented side to them.
First Nations mythology describes the Wolverine as a trickster-hero, and a link to the spirit world. Hopefully, with the current wolverine research that is being conducted, we won't be left with just the myths but will continue to see evidence of these fantastic creatures in the wild.
