Join me as I take you on a Newfoundland and Labrador coastal adventure along the rugged island landscape on the East Coast of Canada. In fact, this spectacular place we call “the rock” is a geological wonder in the middle of the powerful North Atlantic Ocean. I was born in Burin and raised in a tiny rural community called Little Bay, on the Burin Peninsula. I grew up adventuring and always had a love for camping, snowmobiling, boating, Sea Doo and Honda Big Red trikes haha!
Since moving back home to NL I have spent my free time rediscovering the island. In particular, my favourite adventures have involved being on the ocean and observing the amazing marine life. Humpback whales, sunfish, dolphins, minke whale, beluga whales and jellyfish are a few of the sea creatures that have excited me the most! However, I would be nervous if I happened to have an up close shark or orca encounter.
During this camper van road trip in Nfld Canada we camped on an empty beach on Random island. Unfortunately we got caught in a torrential downpour while trying to cook supper and there was mud EVERYWHERE! However, it all made for great memories and we were treated with these magical double rainbows afterwards! That surely was a boon docking experience I will never forget. The geology of the isle is magnificent and filled with mysterious sea caves, hidden beaches, and majestic waterfalls that pour into the sea. Be sure to check out one of the many spectacular boat tours when visiting Newfoundland and Labrador this Summer. Consider a boat tour a must do attraction!
