Twillingate Newfoundland Vacation Rental - Robins Nest Cottages Canada

By Cora Lee Rennie in Newfoundland 832 views 30th Aug, 2023 Video Duration: N/A   Twillingate, NL, Canada

The Robins Nest Cottage was the most amazing vacation accommodation that I stumbled randomly upon the day after my birthday in late July. I had been adventuring in Vana my camper van and visiting friends in Twillingate for the annual Fish, Fun & Folk Festival 2023. I had a fantastic time cruising around the bay in the Sasquatch van but after days of torrential rains, winds, no power, no wi-fi, no sun to charge the solar shower….this adventurer was ready to get a room!

I landed at the Robins Nest Cottages located in a beautiful cove overlooking the rugged coastline and sandy beach - upon the recommendation of a friend. Most vacation properties were full with tourists for the Summer festival and I truly lucked out finding such an amazing vacancy at last minute. From the moment I opened the front door and seen the natural exposed log wood beams and old plank flooring I was in LOVE! Not to mention the adorable and colourful Newfoundland and Labrador accent pieces such as crochet “granny-square” quilts and traditional handmade blankets.

The adorable kitchen and dining area were creatively decorated with cheery bright yellow and robin egg blue coloured accent pieces. In fact, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED sitting at the table in the old saltbox style house, looking out the window at the cove, watching the vehicles and people pass by. I felt just like “nan in the window” as we like to say here in Newfoundland. As I sat peering out at the cold North Atlantic Ocean while drinking hot coffee and eating Purity Jam jam cookies I thought - life is not too darn bad! Happy Birthday to me! Sorry Vana !

Upon wandering upstairs I was greeted with a stunning exposed beam loft suite with a walk out patio also overlooking the beautiful beach and cove. After being in the van for days it was straight to the shower to wash up with my locally made NL sea salt spa soap from Raw Island Botanicals and “heave off” on the cozy queen size bed. I lit some candles, turned down the lights, turned on some good music, stared out at the sea and indulged in birthday cake and bubbly. Best kind.

In conclusion, one night was not enough at this charming property in Twillingate Newfoundland Canada. I am so happy I stumbled upon it and I would love to visit again in the future. Check out this unique east coast vacation property on Airbnb, Instagram and Facebook at The Robin’s Nest Cottages. Thank you for a fabulous stay!
