Abraham Lake is one of Alberta's famous lakes. In the summer it is known of stunning vistas and turquoise waters but in the winter it is known for stunning frozen bubbles.
Mount Michener is a 2,545m peak. There is a 5.6km out and back trail that is an excellent hike, snowshoe or ski. The best time to explore the trail is December through March.
Abraham Lake is actually a larger reservoir used by TransAlta to generate power. Because of this, its levels fluctuate throughout the winter resulting in ever changing conditions. Be sure to use caution before heading out onto the ice.
