What a neat piece of history nestled in the foothills of southern Alberta. Learn all about the history of the land and the creation of the Calgary Stampede! Established in the 1880s, there is a lot to learn and appreciate about the history of ranching in Canada. From 1882 to 1950, the Bar U was one of the foremost ranching operations in Canada. What used to be 157960 acres of Bar U ranchland is now 367 acres of history.
