The second Emerson Lake that we encountered was so serene. The hiking trail around the lakes isn't well used or maintained. It was quite overgrown with some deadfalll and disrepair making it difficult to find the trail this late in the season. As we were focusing on the trail for the most part the views of the lakes would surprise us along the way. Just as this beautiful lake did.
