A beautiful new Indigenous art installation is being installed on the grounds of the Jasper Visitors Information Centre. The piece features a large bronze eagle resting on a silver sphere. The words from six Indigenous languages are etched onto it. In addition to the sculpture, new pathways, a seating area and storytelling and art panels highlighting the diverse cultures of the Indigenous communities that partnered to create this installation. The installation honours the histories and cultures of Indigenous peoples including the Anishinaabe, Cree, Dene-zaa, Michif, Secwepemctsín and Stoney. The opening ceremonies are planned for later in 2024.
